After previously designing ‘Le Chariot’ for The Jane—a mobile bar for serving cocktails tableside—
we were approached again in 2022 by sommelier Trésor Vets. This time, the request was to design
a unique serving cart to elegantly present the exclusive Krug champagne at the table. The goal
was to enhance the champagne experience and offer guests a direct choice of various cuvées.
In our design, we opted for a contemporary, refined interpretation of the classic champagne
trolley, both in form and material usage. We combined a metal look and resin with a touch of
nostalgia by incorporating ribbed glass. Additionally, we considered the practical requirements of
the restaurant, such as the need for a solid, maneuverable serving cart that moves smoothly over
The Jane’s occasionally uneven flooring. The ensemble is intimately illuminated by Flos’ ‘Last
Order’ lamp, with its downward-directed, diffuse glow.
The result is a serving cart that perfectly aligns with The Jane’s distinctive ambiance and Krug’s
refined image, elevating the champagne experience to a higher level.
