Bar Misera

In 2024, chef Nicolas Misera and his wife Yasmin opened their second venue, Bar Misera, in
Antwerp’s vibrant Nieuw Zuid. Situated on the ground floor of Huis aan de Kade, its warm, deepred
façade seemed destined to become a wine bar.
Inspired by lively bistros in Paris, Rome, and Lisbon, Bar Misera offers casual elegance—ideal for
spontaneous aperitifs, friendly dinners, or simply enjoying a glass of excellent wine.
The interior design balances cozy charm with dynamic energy. At its heart is an impressive 20-
meter oak banquette, paired with faux-marbre bistro tables accented in brass. The centerpiece is
the striking wine cabinet and bar, supported by elegant oak legs that add a sophisticated twist.
Contemporary bordeaux-red chairs echo the classic Thonet style.
Playful café curtains, a velvet entrance curtain, and gently rotating ceiling fans evoke a traditional
European café ambiance, while limited acoustic dampening fosters vibrant chatter.
Custom ‘Totm’ lighting fixtures we designed for Dark provide warm, diffused lighting,
complemented by focused spotlights that highlight the bar’s atmosphere and distinctive features.
The result is an inviting wine bar experience, encapsulating the essence of European bistro culture
in the dynamic heart of Antwerp.
